Author guidelines

What editors look for, and what makes a paper easy for search engines to index.

Your file

Submit a single PDF under 25 MB with selectable text. A scan of printed pages with no text layer can be published, but search engines cannot read it, so run it through OCR first if you can.

Title and authors

Use the paper's real title in sentence case, with no all-capitals and no trailing full stop. List every author in the order they should be cited, spelled exactly as they appear on the PDF. The metadata on the page is generated from what you type, so a typo here becomes a typo in every citation index that picks the paper up.

Abstract

Between 150 and 300 words works best. Write it as plain prose without headings, bullet points or LaTeX commands.

Keywords

Five to eight, comma separated, using the terms another researcher would actually search for.

References

Paste your bibliography with one reference per line. Any consistent style is fine. The list is rendered as a numbered list at the bottom of your paper page.

What gets rejected

Submissions that are not research work, papers uploaded by someone who is not an author and has no permission, work whose metadata does not match the file, and anything plagiarised. A rejection comes with a reason, and you can fix the problem and submit again.
